IEcM Christmas 2014 : Cherry coated and licorice flavored wishes!

Melaka Hari InI Newspaper report on IEcM activites Christmas 2014
(newsprint on 24/12/2014)

Welcome to another IEcM( Melaka) update !

The Indian Entrepreneurs Malaysia,(Melaka) is pleased to inform that the Christmas Dinner & New members networking and induction Night 2014 held recently in the luxurious Straits Hotel Melaka, was well attended by our distinguished members, local media heads, their companions and honored friends.
Our night’s dinner programme  started off brilliantly with members certificates and identifying decals with IEcM insignia for promoting and recognizing members  businesses distributed and  accorded to the distinguished attending members and distinguished members’  network in Melaka.
Supporting us that night were also our friends from the local print and media house who came, recorded and promoted our Chambers networking and New Member initiation night.
These gatherings help the Chambers qualify our noble intentions of  networking to promote and strive to spread the interest and business prospects of the local Indian Business owners through opportunities to connect and contact other business leaders of various fields.
To  the friends and partners  in media and print attending and supporting us, our Chambers give a great shout out to these partners, friends and  supporters.
Accordingly, please be informed a part of our Christmas Networking Dinner that we held was also accompanied on that dinner with the presence of our honored guests,  Mr Malcolm Douglas Jones and Patricia Ann Jones of Morriston , Swansea , UK.

This lovely octogenarian pair has been to Melaka not less than 20 times since independence and stays  in Melaka and Malaysia not less than two months every time.. Mr. Malcolm (82 years old) had also at one point , served in the Army under the command of Malaya Royal Welsh Fusiliers in the '50s and has great memories of this City and its people  when it was still a Town!

A great supporter of Melaka and of our local Indian Business Members entrepreneurship and friendship, these couple has often hosted our members in their home in Swansea U.K. and help promote our city and her charms to his extensive network of friends and compatriots back in Wales.

So much so, a few years back, the Governor of Melaka through the auspices of the Promotions and Tourism office, had thrown a Grand Gala Dinner in Villa Melaka for Mrs.Jones!

Looking back on the extensive events and programme list of IEcM this past 6 months of 2014, we wish a Merry Christmas holiday & Happy New Year 2015  to one and all and with the prayers of the good Lord on our lips , we in IEcM look forward to 2015 &  shall strive on and ensure the success of this Chambers continuous  networking and members business promotion !

Reghu's Datukship Makan

On a cloudy full Moon Saturday night this December, Reghu sent us an invite to attend his "makan" for being conferred Datukship by the State Govt.  Michelle had been travelling that same morning to JB to attend her ToastMasters EXCO Training meet and was bushed when she arrived back home @ 6.45pm. But not withstanding the sleepiness and drowsiness she felt, we puttered off to Batu berendam to attend this invite and as usual we were given good welcome and good food whilst the host chatted with all his other guests and us.

This was the scene outside our house in Bukit Bruang as we got out to drive over to reghu's !

Indian Entrepreneurs’ Chamber Melaka AGM-29/11/2014

In Melaka, the Indian Entrepreneurs’ Chamber Melaka champions a networking based association for local Indian business men.
Last Saturday (29/11/2014) the chamber members held their belated Annual general meeting within the ballroom of Hotel Seri Costa in Melaka Raya. During this well attended and received meet, the guests of honor was Mr. Mohanan Perumal, C.E.O of Makka Osai newspaper who drove down to join us that evening along with his retinue of managers and journalists to witness the signing of an Memorandum of Understanding between the newspaper company and our Chambers to help promote the Indian business products and services in Melaka.

The Annual General meeting saw the incoming Executive Committee Members elected and appointed as per the members wishes and was followed by a sumptuous Hi Tea accorded by the Hotel.
Networking is a time-honored tradition that most people apply every day without even knowing it.

Most view it as making contacts, creating relationships, finding out about essentials, even as making friends. And in actuality that is all it is.  Networking is based on the premise that we’re all humans and need each other.

In that note, this chamber has established itself as a group that does its charter and vision proud. We started out with just 6-7 of us late last year and within one year have managed to exemplify  and surpassed what we set out in our charter and mission /vision statement we would like to do.

The result is a members based business chamber that is full of energy and drive that provides its members with the ability to absorb the results of our networking and business contacts to their individual advantage for the benefit of all.

What is a 'HINDU' ?

In 1995, Chief Justice P. B. Gajendragadkarwas quoted in anIndian Supreme Court ruling:

When we think of the Hindu religion, unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet; it does not worship any one god; it does not subscribe to any one dogma; it does not believe in any one philosophic concept; it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion orcreed. It may broadly be described as away of life and nothing more.

Common Misunderstandings on Hinduism

Vedanta (and all Hinduism) is entirely monistic, believing only in the all-pervading world-soul, Brahman, rather than a personal God

This advaita philosophy is certainly popular, and offers a simple explanation of the many deities. Nonetheless, many theologians have considered God to be a person. He is not merely an anthropomorphic representation, nor are the various deities and murtis simply incarnations or representations of an impersonal Supreme.

Thus Hinduism includes both monism and monotheism. It is misleading to call the Abrahamic religions,"the monotheistic traditions," implying that monotheism is absent from the Eastern traditions. Vedanta includes many monotheistic schools. They may accept the existence of many gods and goddesses, but strongly emphasizes the pre-eminence of the Supreme Deity.
