Looking at the big picture, i am grateful to have experienced a life time of safety, security and comfort in this life growing old in a Malaysia that was once aspired to be a secular country.

History does not lie...it just gives different readers different perspectives of what used to be. From millenias' ago,  disruptors to the existing way of life have existed. 

Using hyperbole, religious rhetoric and xenophobia they have been succesful in stunting human development in the name of the almighty and a national agenda since time immemorial.

Looking at the past as written down by earlier humans, i see evidence of these rabble rousers from scenes written down as history everywhere...from old melaka to south east asia march away from kingly states to even the norse (viking) marauding on the new world.

Depending on peaceful times or arbitrarily speaking _specific geolocations of autocratic rulers & iron fist control of their domains_ this disruptions to peace and tranquility only was reduced from 1850s onwards for about 100 years with the British, Spanish, German, French controlling their respective spheres of empires using draconian, violent ways.

The Americans changed that with their war leadership -post 1945 world war 2, in which the axis of power shifted once again...this time towards scientific & political advancements.

But, the disruptors are again rearing their heads and stirring the masses ...

Of course, the past 75 years or so of peaceful times can be expected to produce certain expectations ... (in which time, assuredly tremendous achievements by the scientific community worldwide has been materialised)...again, due to western hegemony and ideologies but making people feel entitled. And thus starts the downhill ride....

We are reaching towards the end of such times if history is any indication as men during peace times becomes more avaracious for control and power over other men. 

And in the end, that is all it is.  

The Quest to have Dominion over others. 

Not just over their  life but also over their beliefs and fears.

I suspect Covid 19/20/21 is helping push virtual immersive experiences that is coming to us come faster than industry initially anticipated. 

Within the next decade,  Metaverse will reach 1 billion people- that's the bold prediction from Meta chairman and owner Zuckerberg and if what he says is true, then the sheer scale of that audience means there are going to be significant opportunities for related industries such as travel and hospitality players. 

Now just for a moment, can you imagine the sheer benefit if all these techs converge? Allowing something like the Omniverse codes which are easily scalable, open platform built for virtual collaboration and real-time physically accurate simulation to traverse between languages, codes, apps and sites to allow universal confluence for creators' imagination?

Basically, what I propose is allowing the digital realm to simulate and process the physical realm. A copy of what we have now in the world and who knows, as our imagination soars, the real world could one day benefit from the technological superimpositions of this digital world?

How? Well for one thing,...Travel planning is one aspect that can and will enter this new metamorphosis, and as an avid traveller, i would like to be able to see inside the hotel rooms and be able to walk around the hotel's amenities as if on a live tour of the hotel to help me make my choice.

It would help sell, i imagine, the sheer joy and gleeful experience of the ( future) stay to potential guests, methinks. 

And why not?  Just consider the possibilities a digital concierge that can offer recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and shopping avenues that fit your budget or needs, e.t.c or ....a check-in process that happens in the metaverse via a digital front desk sebelum you keluar kereta... Wah..kan canggih!

It's also easy to see how this could help hotel owners address the labor shortage by making these remote/metaverse positions available. 

The other obvious application for hotels is the MICE or events industry, the ability to fully combine in-person with remote/metaverse would substantially improve hybrid conferences where there is a mix of in-person and remote attendees. 

I could anticipate luxury properties in Singapore, Dubai, New York and London being the early-adopters of the metaverse since it is hyper-personalized and experiential and those are key trends in luxury travel.

Assuming VR gets its power- on, and the metaverse gets its financial clout or traction, I could see a future demand for meta-hotels where brands and luxe companies can offer their latest specialised goods and services without worry of safety, geographic locations and security...Or interior design layouts for your meta-home that are styled from high-end hospitality brands and sponsored as such e.g. you could pay a fee to have your metaverse 'home' transformed to a Four Seasons Resort and your appointments can be done there holographicly and or through your avatar!

In the future you may even be willing to pay for a 'digital stay' in a luxury resort that exists purely in the metaverse, the advantage for the hotel? No housekeeping if it's digital!😀

The metaverse help break the “walls” between humans and machines. Using holograms and avatars can “humanize” the robotic services that hotels offer.

On the one hand, travelers preferring human interactions with real service staff would feel less reluctant to the automatic services provided by avatars. 

On the other hand, hotels can address the labor shortage challenge by replacing labor-intensive positions with machines/robots. Using AI-powered avatars can further eliminate the variations in service operations caused by humans' individual factors.

Besides creating an immersive digital experience for the hotel guests, the metaverse can also become a virtual workspace for hotel staff. For example, hotels can offer flexible, work-from-home schedules in the metaverse that today's workforce demands. 

Metaverse may come sooner to the hospitality industry than we anticipate today.  But the key to it all are risks and investment protocols these hotel owners have to assume, which means finance, banking and related industry and insurance bean counter executives have to buy in into the idea and roll out financialbhelp for the creation of concepts they are shown.

I think all the hedge fund houses, including Meta, Alphabet and Black Rock has its work cut out for it, to work in close conjunction with these industries in order to let guests experience the establishment before even setting foot in the property. 

Imagine the day when a way for guests to check out the hotel or destination before traveling - maybe making reviews less relevant because they can "go and see it" and possibly interact with the staff is made available to all and sundry...imagine what those technologies can do for other industries and earnings.

In the last 100 years or so, our ability to virtually experience destinations has increased with at first the radio, then TV,  followed by movies, videos etc. 

Rather than satisfying our desire to travel this technological creations increased it, which is why I believe VR and the metaverse will increase real travel.  Despite the bad events we need to attend, despite the complaints that business travel is a chore - we travel because we want to, rarely because we must.  

And it's going to be beautiful!!! 

We finally will see an evolution that will dwarf anything we have seen before. Fact is: People hate changing, but they love to escape. If there is one thing that Internet has shown us is that we are able to get away with anything and everything.  

Now how is that relevant for Hospitality and how will it leap frog hospitality? 

Imagine going for a drink in the trendiest club in Paris to then jump and go shopping in New York, being able to have a meeting anywhere an everywhere. Whilst phase 1 of metaverse will be relatively boring, what comes after will be amazing: immersive experiences thanks to haptic feedback. 

This means that we can take hospitality home and therefore your favorite beachfront can be where you are and the only reason to go to a destination is to get the "real" deal. 

Exciting times ahead indeed.

Appreciating the coming turmoil in Earnings and Investments

"Alaah, kau tulis panjang-panjang, bukan orang baca pun"! exclaimed my wife to me a long time ago whence i was getting into the habit of recording my thoughts and musing for others to read. "Lagipun, your words are all bombastic type wan, mana ada orang kita paham" she continued for added alacrity.

That was then, but i found that the 2020/ 2021 lockdowns had a silver lining for me as my readership kept increasing....although i can't honestly say its because my writing improved(!) or because my topics found new receiverships........

Well, not to meander but i think while being focussed only on your job / career-driven is a good thing, it's important to remember when to draw the line. 

You need to expand the mind just as much as you need to exercise the body. If you're hustling all the time without taking proper breaks, you're eventually gonna feel burnt out, affecting your overall health and wellbeing. ....and reading does help one to think out side the box...or at least get a broader perspective!  

That's why you need to find the right balance between your work and personal life. It can even be as simple as logging off on time, avoiding checking your emails during the weekend, or taking short breaks in between work. 

This means focusing on those small moments as you go about your day-to-day activities, from listening to the birds chirp during your morning walk, to enjoying the cool evening breeze while sipping a cup of chai. Be a little care free.  Living a carefree life isn't about living life without care and doing whatever you want. It's about living in the moment and practising daily gratitude. 

By doing all these things, you'll find that there's more meaning in everything you do.

But, it has to be done. This way, you'll not only notice that you have less pressure and stress, but will also cherish every moment you get during your time off work & worries. 

Which brings me to my topic today: Be Prepared for coming Financial and Social changes.

Anyone unprepared for future shocks would struggle to cope with the rapidity of social and technological changes and may suffer physical and psychological distress and disorientation.  @ god knows things are changing super fast in the world outside the cocoon of our family and friends. 

As even companies are finding out, rude awakenings i.e. new technological changes to current way of doing things would overload even an organisation’s capacity for adaptation / decision-making and make cost over runs a given possibility.

If not for the Covid-19 outbreak which turned into a global pandemic from 2020, the world would have chugged along nicely, much like in 2019. Any attempt to convince our rakyat then to prepare for the worst possible scenarios that may occur in future would have fallen on deaf ear. 

Tragically for many,  2021 turned out to be even worse than 2020. It is certain that those who have not learnt any lesson and are still not preparing for future shocks would suffer in a matter of time, more so for the down trodden and surviving paycheck to paycheck types.... and almost all who face a multitude of challenges on many fronts. This thing confronting us now is not going away , not even if the government wishes it to.

As it is not within the full control of any government, how could they possibly ensure the health, safety and security of their constituents and workers in the event of another pandemic variant, natural or manmade disasters such as (god forbid) mass rioting, terrorist attacks, armed civil conflicts or full-scale war due to water access or land access?

So, without a contingency plan, most families and individuals would be stumbling and fumbling when handling emergencies, accidents, fires, robberies, thefts and incidents such as lost or missing documents or passports, power failure or system down, website hacked or data stolen, or even office lock tampered with....or as personally experienced, having a lawyer glue my office keyhole to stop me from accessing my office files and facility. Haram jadah punya lawyer.

But, to digress, having the clarity of mind in such occasions is of utmost importance. 

And that means you need be prepared to face eventualities. Reading is one way we know how others faced these situations in their life, and in my opinion helps us achieve some peace of mind in being prepared.

For individuals who are unwilling to adjust to the new norm, the next phase that is coming for us all in the coming few years would be a nightmare for them , especially since whether they understand it or not, if they are their families main bread winner then their children will also suffer the consequences of their (in)actions. This is because many companies around the world would be very too busy catching up technologically with their competitors and to make their products and services cheaper than to worry about individual workers.

Companies and governments would be very strict on compliance and would not be compromising on losing their sleep on your health, safety and security or over your worries.

Our middle age workers especially, if they are unable to re-educate themselves on new job requirements and monitor the changes happening in their sectors and industries, many would be in for a rude shock soon.

To mitigate such risks, every worker must have knowledge on what are their strengths and weakness.. there must be a clear understanding of operating procedure (SOP) for routine work and sound financial contingency plans in case of disruptions, which are SOPs for coping with every possible disaster. 

If not, even large and reputable families could be totally ruined overnight and wiped out financially once the main middle aged main bread winners are effected by industry disruptions and new demands.

Dan Inilah Akibat Konsep Ketuanan Melayu - Perdana Menteri Ikut Telunjuk DAP, Orang Sarawak Sudah Protes Nak Keluar

 First of all I was right (again) when I said that the DAP will nominate the next PM (after the next general elections in 2023).

But I was wrong in the timing. Because with the most recent MoU between the DAP/PH and the PN the Prime Minister has agreed to "inputs" from the DAP in making government policy, including of course the upcoming Budget 2022. 

Meaning the DAP is already dictating to the PM now in 2021. 

(Hello DAP, please do not over dictate, play it cool, step by step.)

The PM Ismail Sabri absolutely needs the DAP to support him to get the Budget 2022 through Parliament in October. 

If any PM cannot survive without the DAP there is no need for the DAP to nominate exactly who shall be the PM. It does not matter. Practically it is the same thing. They can call the shots. So I was right - the DAP will nominate who shall be PM, because if Ismail Sabri does not listen to the DAP then out he goes. 

Both UMNO and Dr Mahathir should realise that now you have to start delivering what the PH promised in that Manifesto anyway. But now - you have to listen to it with a gun pointed at your head. That is the difference.

For example limiting the term of the PM to two terms. I began writing about this in the late 1990s and in early 2000s. That we should restrict the term of the PM to two terms only.  The same should apply for all Menteri Besar, Chief Ministers, Members of Parliament and ADUNs.  Lets just keep changing them.

But UMNO and Dr Mahathir (in UMNO / Bersatu / PH) did not do any of this. So you got kicked out, you lost the vote, Dr Mahathir lost SEVEN by-elections and was overthrown in a coup de etat, TSri Muhyuddin got kicked out and now Ismail Sabri can only survive with the help of the DAP.

Padan muka. Serves you right. 

If you had listened to me all these years and made those policy changes you would NOT have lost the general elections, you would not have lost the SEVEN by elections, you would not have lost the support of even your own party members and coalition partners. You would still be in office on your own steam.

And now here is a video from Sarawak. I dont how recent or how old is this video but the fact that I received this via email yesterday (15 September) and today is Malaysia Day (16 September) is more than a coincidence. People are actually asking 'What Malaysia Day?"

Negara Sarawak? Keluar Malaysia?  

This is not the first time the Sarawakians (and Sabahans) are protesting and I dont think it will be the last either. 

(Unless Shafie Apdal becomes the Prime Minister. If Shafie Apdal becomes Prime Minister then all this talk about Sarawak and Sabah leaving Malaysia will go away. 

It is also super high time that we had a permanent PM's office in Kuching and KK. The PM must have a fixed schedule and office hours for at least two days a month in Kuching and another two days every month in KK).  

So all this is the result of the failed "ketuanan Melayu"  thinking,  the failed Dasar Ekonomi Baru of the past 50 years and the Brader's more recent 'Islami-cessation' of the Malay mind. Thinking ceased among the Malays.  Thanks to DEB and Islami-cessation orang Melayu jadi mati akal.

Ok here are some demographics about Malaysia. Our population now exceeds 32 million people, though the exact numbers are not known. 

What is more important is that the accurate numbers of people by race and religion is not properly counted. What does this mean? It has serious implications, especially when elections are now won or lost on razor thin margins. 

In the last Census (circa 2010??)  the kleptocrats appointed the mamak minister to go and count the population. We lived in Bukit Jalil. Out of over 400 homes we were the only non-Chinese household.

During the Census they hired those unemployable university graduate types on  contract basis to do the Census. A bunch of tudung wearing Malay girls came to our area.  They saw that all the houses were Chinese (most had that red coloured Chinese tokong in front of the house. Ours was white / beige coloured - I bought it at the garden shop as an ornament). And many houses also had dogs. So the girls just walked around for a while and then left - without knocking on a single door (at least in my area, cos I was watching them.) 

What does this mean? This means the ketuanan Melayu guys do not know the real demographics of the population in Malaysia. They do not know the exact numbers of non Malays either, especially in critical areas like Selangor, Perak, Penang and Klang Valley. 

When they do the Census in the Malay areas they count the people, the cats and the chickens. So the Malay population numbers "look good."

But when it come to voting time, the UMNO boys lose the elections. Not only because the Malays dont vote for you anymore but because other races (especially the ever-BN faithful Indians) also dont vote for you anymore. 

So bila undi Melayu pecah, all those Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Dusuns etc that YOU DID NOT COUNT DURING THE CENSUS all came out and voted against you. 

Surprise !

In the 2010 census, 68.8% of the population were considered bumiputera, 23.2% Chinese, and 7% Indian. (As I said most or all of the Chinese in Bukit Jalil were not counted.)

In 2021 these were figures were 69.7% bumiputera, 22.5% Chinese, and 6.8% Indian.

But here is the catch. Who exactly are these "bumiputras"? 

• As of 2017 Bumiputras totalled 68.8% of Malaysia's population.
• Muslim Malays make up 54.66%
• Other bumiputra make up 14.14%. 
• Other bumiputra include Thais, Khmers, Chams, natives of Sabah and Sarawak

Malays made up only 54.66% of the population in 2017.

I got the following from Wikipedia, of course you can dispute these numbers. Some people are not included while others may have been "absorbed" into larger groups. (As I said there are no accurate figures).

And here is the catch again - nowadays not all bumiputeras want to be identified with the 'Malay' bumiputras.  Look at those people protesting in that video above. Those are mostly bumiputras (though there are some Chinese shouting "Salawak" in the video. Haiyya walau-eh, please learn to speak the language properly lah. Sudah berapa generasi lor.)

The Melanaus in Sarawak called themselves Malays. Now I dont know lah.

Tuan-tuan in Sarawak the Muslims make up 25% or less of the population. 75% of Sarawakians are Christian, Buddhists etc.  

In Sabah the real numbers of "original" non-Muslims exceeds the Muslims - it still does if you deduct the Projeck IC immigrants from the Philippines. 

And in the Semenanjung the 'Malays' includes the mamaks, 'pakistan' (punjabi muslims) etc.

Dulu masa Umno pegang more than 2/3 majority, the mamak dipanggil keling juga. Then when Umno lost the 2/3 majority in 2008, semua mamak jadi Melayu secara automatic. After the 2008 elections they placed tables below the Selangor Mansion building in Masjid India and asked the PR mamaks to isi borang for citizenship. Ramai mamak jadi citizen. KIMMA pun jadi Melayu.

Mamak ini sebenarnya very simple people. Depa kuat sembahyang - pagi-pagi depa mesti sembahyang subuh. Then the mamak rajin jaga bisnes - because the majority are business people.  Lepas tu mamak rajin jaga family depa. Thats all.

But on the ground, the reality is bebudak jabatan agama pi kacau restoran mamak pasal halal lah and entah apa. Imigresen usik depa pasal permit pekerja asing lah. Majlis bandaran kacau depa pasal letak meja / barang niaga di kaki lima. Bayar duit sikit semua boleh kautim.  So bila time election, mamak pun fed up, depa undi pembangkang.

So even though the bumiputera population is 69% or the Malay "ori" population is 54.66% these numbers are not very accurate because they include the non-Malay bumiputera Sarawak, Sabah, the mamak, 'pakistan', thai and dont know who else who may not vote for 'ketuanan Melayu' anymore. 

And then - jeng jeng jeng - even the Malay "ori" vote is split. Malays dont all vote for Umno anymore. Malays dont all vote for Pas. Malays dont all vote for PKR.  The Malay vote is permanently split.

A friend of mine told me that when the British did a Census in 1950 the Malays were classified into SEVEN distinct groups including Melayu, Jawa, Banjar, Minangkabau, Mandeiling, etc.

The Javanese alone make up over 1.0 million 'Malays' in the Semenanjung. There are large numbers of Javanese in lower Perak, Selangor and of course Johor. 

In places like Hutan Melintang (Perak), Sabak Bernam, Sungai Besar, Kuala Selangor, Sekinchan the lingua franca in the kampongs is still Javanese. Even Indians and mamak shopkeepers speak Javanese. And the DAP fellows in Sekinchan can speak Javanese. 

In Sarawak the lingua franca is Iban. In Miri if you speak Malay you are obviously an alien (which I found out personally).

With the formation of UMNO in 1946 and Independence in 1957 all these diverse groups of people agreed to forego their individual identities and unite as one 'masyarakat Melayu'.  So the Javanese, the Minangs and the others developed a Malay identity. Also the Suluks in Sabah. With the consolidation of Malay political power, especially after 1969, the way to go was to be a full fledged Malay. 

Why? Because everyone had high hopes that adhering to one, united Malay identity would benefit them. 

Yes it worked for a while. 

But now after 50 years the benefits are wearing thin. Very thin. Despite adopting a 'Malay' identity  their plight is not  improving as much as it should.  And certainly not when compared to the Vietnamese, Singaporeans or even the Thais and Indonesians.  We are falling behind.

At the end of the day it is not race, language or religion that feeds your children, keeps them off the streets, gives them jobs and opportunities. It is only the economy that counts. It is always about the economy. Bahasa, bangsa, agama semua boleh simpan bawah bantal.

The majority Kelantanese for example are laughing at the rest of the Malays for having voted for UMNO/BN. At last UMNO/BN kalah juga. For years the majority Kelantanese voted Pas and were the odd ones out. But now UMNO/BN are back. And the Pas (the favorite of the majority Kelantanese) are in bed with UMNO pula!!  So the Kelantanese will vote for Pas again. 

So be careful - if being a Malay does not help them as much as it should people may revert back to the solace, comfort, safety and familiarity of their own people to make their own way.   Dont say I did not warn you.

Akhir kalam, Dasar Ekonomi Baru, "ketuanan Melayu", bahasa, bangsa, agama politics all just do not work.

If you had listened to what I have been saying all these years all these problems could have been avoided.

But what did the dunggus do? They went and banned my book Malaysia and the Club of Doom - The Collapse of the Islamic Countries.  

They banned my book in 2016 - T E N   Y E A R S after the book went out of print. Punyalah bodoh.  What else can I say? I told you so.

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt. 

Yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Sharia law prevails there, because the Muslim community in those areas refuses to acknowledge British law. As for we who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts -- the fanatics who threaten our way of life." Anyone who doubts the seriousness of this issue and just deletes without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. 

So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on in the hope that thousands, world-wide, read this, think about it, and send it on - before it's too late.

Good morning! 

Soon, we will have a new Goverment. Great news and welcome to a new dawn.

 Really? For the non Bumi nothing will change. We will still gripe about the education system the NEP and the racial undertones. 

For the poor Bumis they will be addicted to their handouts and subsidies. 

The truth is nothing will change

Soon enough they are going to announce the new leader of the government and many will be unhappy - if not outright disgusted - by the choice.

People asked me who I expect and I said a right-wing Malay male from a racist party. Because that’s all I have ever known. Which individual fella it turns out to be is probably going to be a variation on the ‘ketuanan’ theme.

60 years of corruption has come home to roost. No political master has the strength to upset the Malays. And we have no principled leaders. None among the present politicians anyway. If you are expecting an Indian AG or a Chinese minister of finance, dream on. 

We have institutional racism. 1.6 million Malay civil servants to carry out orders from above and sometimes a power  on their own. The genie won’t go back in the bottle. Addiction to inducements and handout to crippled minds is hard to undo. Nay, impossible. 

The only thing this nation will give you is the free air to breath and a safe ticket to stay if you remain silent. Or else the thugs will be let loose. Be self reliant and if you get a chance good citizens, including bumis,  leave. There are better options out there. If you cannot leave, be frugal and self sufficent. Seek a profession or a trade. There will be no safety net for us.

[01/07, 08:55] Gunabalan Esq.: Researching the swami trailinga life story, i realised what i'd forgotten.....which was that karmic retribution is everything we wished for actually.

Lesson unlearned is repeated ad infinitum.

Our Universe is both multi & inter dimensional...i.e. life is replicated on several mirror image planes....and levels (lokas);-

Bhu, bhuvas, svar, mahas, janas, tapas, and satya above and atala, vitala, sutala, rasātala, talātala, mahātala, pātāla and naraka below.

Thats what brahma rishi vasistha recorded in the Gayatri mantra for us.  i.e. That even the gods are not immortal..their loga is controlled by different gravity & time hence they seem immortal to our mind ....thats also why brahma is just 1 of many manu's who will be future brahma's and yugas.

As the manu dharmasastras wrote, the initial collection of vedas were retrieved by brahma's tapas _every single time creation is re started...( akashic records)and later the sapta rishis _de-composed_ the initial vedas into easier versions for each yuga as they understood human life becomes shorter and their memories  and actions vilier & slower.

Again, referring to the slokas sayings... what was, is and will be again.

Thus all humanistic sacrifices...ie through personal loss, sacrifice as long as its a Contribution towards human(istic) comfort, advancement, and promulgation is GOOD KARMA.

(Though seen through individual emotion is felt as personal loss, sacrifice)

You can forget it temporarily (maya) but you have it forever...whats next is then just _choice_.

Choose ...to  act or not to act upon the knowledge...immaterial because once this body is no more the 5 layers of subtle temporal bonds that make up this soul will revert to its original programming ...and life starts all over again...

Remember when i was talking about how our economy will be repeating the 1970s style of economic inflation?

This was how things started moving then......by increasing infrastructure and increasing capital expenditure on land banks that will be later turned to homes and houses......in this particular case, all southern malaysia / central malaysia and Penang areas will benefit from increased (inflated) house prices as many VERY LARGE family run companies, finance & technology companies, internet based companies like Google start investing in Singapore ( as they are escaping Hong Kong).

The first wave of price increases will be in s'pore property prices as the billionaires flee and crowd into S'pore followed by a few years later in JB city and its outlying districts because of singapore's obvious lack of land and Entertainment. 

Eventually,with the High Speed Train even Melaka will feel the overflow of investments coming from the newly minted rich there....and i suspect the developers here will be targetting more towards high end developments here in melaka as well by the end of this decade.

As i informed you earlier, the business shifts  & changes which are coming to this region are starting.

Biden Appoints Decorated Combat General, ex Board Member of Largest Missile Manufacturer As Secretary of Defense. The Bombings Have Started Again.

The United States has renewed airstrikes in Syria, they have sent US troops into Mozambique and that US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 has been postponed indefinitely. All this (and more to come) at the behest of this man here :

4 Star General Lloyd James Austin III

In January 2021 General Lloyd James Austin III has been appointed the US Secretary of Defense (Department of Defense or DoD aka The Pentagon).

General Austin was 'boots on the ground' in the American invasion of Afghanistan. In 2003 he became the commanding general of US and allied forces in Afghanistan.

He was also 'boots on the ground' in the invasion of Iraq and in 2010, he became Commanding General (CG) of US Forces - Iraq. 

In 2013 Austin became commander of United States CENTCOM (Central Command). 

Upon retirement from the US Army in 2016, he joined the Board of Raytheon Technologies, one of the largest weapons manufacturers in the world and a major weapons supplier to the US Department of Defense. 

Among Raytheon's products include the Tomahawk cruise missiles, Patriot missiles, Sidewinder missiles, Joint Strike Missile, Joint Standoff Weapon, Paveway bomb, Stinger missile and many other toys. 

Under the new Biden administration the US has recently renewed its airstrikes in Syria, targeting Iranian assets. It has been reported that the new Secretary of Defense was personally involved in the Syria strike.

In his first overseas tour since becoming US Secretary of Defense, General Austin has visited Japan and South Korea and right now he is on a three day visit to India.

The next few years will see the US ramping up its anti China posturing. I dont think the US will go to war with China. It will be suicidal and China is not a military threat to world trade. 

For example no one complaints (or even talks about) the first Chinese overseas military base in the entire history of China (in Djibouti) because China uses the base to play a frontline role in suppressing piracy in that area. 

The US weapons manufacturers need the China bogeyman to frighten the American people into spending taxpayers money to buy more rockets, missiles and bombs.

This is where I think Pakistan is going to get thrown under the bus. In India, General Austin wants to get Indian support to "contain" China. But India and China have already achieved a sort of "equilibrium" regarding the border disputes. Dont mess with me and I wont mess with you. Plus it is really insane for India and China to engage in rivalry when there is so much shared prosperity yet to be exploited between the two countries. 

The US is more worried about Afghanistan where Russia now plays a very big role - including successfully engaging with the Taliban. Hence the decision by General Austin that American forces remain in Afghanistan. Bad mistake. But they need to sell weapons. Plus India is still a close ally of Russia.

India does not like the Taliban because they are lackeys of Pakistan and the Taliban are "irrational" actors (Pakistan as well - to an extent). Indian intelligence and Indian spooks have built up a very significant "ground presence" in Afghanistan without appearing too ubiquitous. 

Right now the Indian presence in Afghanistan helps them contain Pakistan. (Helps keep Pakistan tied up, distracted inside Afghanistan thereby creating less trouble in Kashmir and elsewhere along the Indo-Pak border).

Over the years the US has become less committed to its long time 'two timing friend' Pakistan. Recently the US sold US3 billion worth of Predator drones to India - a  major slap in the face for Pakistan which not only cannot afford the Predators but the Americans selling the top secret drones to India reflects high levels of trust and military cooperation between the US and India. Hence the BECA, LEMOA and COMCASA agreements above. 

The ground is shifting but it is not unpredictable
