The much anticipated Year of Ram Lunar New Year is just two days away and food plays an integral part in this traditional festival for the Chinese Community around the world. Invited to participate in their New Year Dinner by the Oriental Straits Medical center, this new kid on the block as a medical center made us feel very welcomed and happy in their maiden official CNY dinner for suppliers and friends.
For the Chinese in Malaysia Yu Sang or Yee Sang, the Teochew-style raw fish salad originating from South China, is one of the common yet popular dishes served during the Chinese New Year (CNY).
The dish, made up of shredded colorful vegetables and slices of raw fish is usually served as an appetizer before lunch or dinner and everyone will say loudly their auspicious wishes while tossing the yee sang so that their wishes would be heard and fulfilled. Surprisingly, this signature CNY dish is only well-known in Malaysia and Singapore. This year with Jessica on board as Sales Dept head in this spanking new Medical Center, she invited both Michelle and I to join her Deputy CEO Dr. Tan Hui Ling in feting all their suppliers and corporate clients a Jolly New Year ahead.

The night was filled with both merriment and laughter as the capacity crowd was entertained and feted by KENGDOM Restaurant with delicious and expensive selections of Chinese food delicacies!
