Month of May IEcM Meeting

The minutes of IEcM Month of May (May Matham) meeting.

The Distinguished Chamber President gave thanks to our Distinguished member Tuan Hj.Moidu for hosting our meeting at his place and for the fabulous Dinner provided whilst welcoming every  Distinguished members who attended the meeting.

Items on the discussion agenda included : 

1.Offer by the Indian Embassy to IEcM members to conduct a large Networking Dinner somewhere after Deepavali 2015 providing all of us a chance to do business pairing sessions & interact with established Indian Entrepreneurs from India.Their one request was for us to collectively bring in at least 200 Indian business owners to attend the networking Gala. Submission of vote for proceeding with this offer was carried out and unanimously accepted with the caveat that the members show due diligence to bring in the minimum 20 tables required from amongst their friends and network.

2.Membership details were discussed. The Distinguished Members list was updated and Chamber Treasurer, distinguish member Mr.Gopal will give all committee an update by next meeting date (due on June).  Chamber Secretary Gunabalan will liaise with him on this matter to provide Chambers activity list since 2014 Feb.

3. Fees for membership was also discussed and our distinguished President raised the issue of raising membership dues to help sustain chamber administration costs and it was agreed an agenda to sustain this motion be raised during the coming Annual General Meeting.

4. It was also motioned to raise the membership fees to RM 100.00 from the present RM 50.00. Secondly, it was also motioned that payments be recorded for every half yearly instead of Yearly to enable pro- rata payments by members to be processed.

5. At this juncture, current year payments were solicited and payments were made by: Bharat, Gunabalan, Moidu x 3, Gandhi, Kumar to the distinguished treasurer.

6. The committee was also informed about the loss of our esteemed member Mr. Krishnan from Jasin who loss his Mother a few weeks ago. The committee noted their condolences to the bereaving family.

7. Discussions on the List of Associated  (Indian NGO)-Non Governmental Organisations, Indian social association and Temple committe addresses still not received from the distinguished member from the Chief Minister's dept was also raised and discussed. The Chamber wishes to access this pertinent information to enable the secretary to update all our brothers and sisters within the community on our activities and Calendar of Events.

8. Information regarding our Brand awareness was also updated by our distinguished member, Mr.Gandhi who is in charge of our new website creation. He advised that the site is up and running. Business activities related to members products and services can now be uploaded on to our IEcM website as a membership privilege. All members are to be made aware of this new development.

9.Next Annual General Meeting date was brought up for discussion and will be updated to all members for their input at the next month meeting. 

10. Details of the new Chamber Office cum Club House in Alai,Melaka courtesy of our Distinguished President Mr. Bharat Ajmera was updated.

Meeting ended at 11.00 pm with a resounding vote of confidence given by the attending members to the activity and function of IEcM thus far which everyone commented was beneficial to them and their companies.
