Birthday Dinner for Big Daddy

On the 3rd of August 2011, my family and I celebrated my birthday with a dinner that was extravagant and yet subtle in taste and splendor that it became a birthday dinner worth remembering.
They say a picture paints a thousand words and so,
I will allow the pictures to speak for themselves here for once !
The evening started off well with my favorite grapejuice served ice cold and frothy -
just the way I love it.

I loved this appetiser as it was thinly shredded guave fruit with asam boi sprinkle.

Duck consomme with Shitake mushroom, sprouts and green peppercorns

My Family at the Main Dinner table

Herb Infused Soup for the strengthening of our libido !

Braised pork in wine infused broth with TangKwei and small onions to buang angin !

Shoryn ordered a sour based fruit drink but was left complaining she lost her voice temporarily because it was so cold that it was burning the flam in her throat. Macam-macam this daughter of mine. She takut tak boleh Karaoke later in the night !

Shredded cucumber with pumpkin, walnut, sesame seeds and garam masala as vegetable dish

Rice wrapped in seaweed paper & nuts, mutton strands and flavored with spicy sauce

After Dinner, as it was still early, we all adjourned to the playground to try out the recently installed machine that's both a video game and a moving seat ! Chandra was given first GO  and he managed to complete one circuit before having to run to the Mens to empty his bladder as Michelle also  complained of vertigo playing the game but it was Shoryn who had a blast breaking in the machine as she managed to go several levels before she was drawn and quartered by the pirate zombies!

ENJOYABLE FAMILY OUTING DINNER

What is a 'HINDU' ?

In 1995, Chief Justice P. B. Gajendragadkarwas quoted in anIndian Supreme Court ruling:

When we think of the Hindu religion, unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet; it does not worship any one god; it does not subscribe to any one dogma; it does not believe in any one philosophic concept; it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion orcreed. It may broadly be described as away of life and nothing more.

Common Misunderstandings on Hinduism

Vedanta (and all Hinduism) is entirely monistic, believing only in the all-pervading world-soul, Brahman, rather than a personal God

This advaita philosophy is certainly popular, and offers a simple explanation of the many deities. Nonetheless, many theologians have considered God to be a person. He is not merely an anthropomorphic representation, nor are the various deities and murtis simply incarnations or representations of an impersonal Supreme.

Thus Hinduism includes both monism and monotheism. It is misleading to call the Abrahamic religions,"the monotheistic traditions," implying that monotheism is absent from the Eastern traditions. Vedanta includes many monotheistic schools. They may accept the existence of many gods and goddesses, but strongly emphasizes the pre-eminence of the Supreme Deity.
