I believe the first time we attended Ronnie's dinner was 4 years ago when he was introduced to us was in Bei Zhan Restaurant in Kota Laksamana. Sprightly old fella, frisky too !
So naturally, he and I hit it off immediately, but Michelle kept her opinions to herself that night though it was very obvious she didn't care much for his frisky behavior. The meal they ordered for our group was resplendent with really tasty ingredients and meat with the typical menu consisting of food that was popular 10-15 years ago in Melaka. Everything from Fried Chicken to Mutton curry was served to us in proper portions for our table of 10 which made the meal so much more easier to consume as we gabbed and caught up on each others lives.
The night ended around 10.00am for us as we went back home fully stuffed with excellent memories of a fantastic meal and good dinner conversation.
Later that week, Pamela (michelle's classmate from School days) gave her a tinkle requesting our attendance to a dinner invite with her family members in Aunty Lee's Restaurant in Ujung Pasir.
This time around we were in the company of pam's grandma, mom and dad, with her brother popping in later to join in .
As usual, this place was busy with customers streaming in and out constantly but having said that. the meal came out quite fast and it was well prepared.
I decided to try out their famous Cendol dessert first to whet my taste buds before the main meal and soon the rest followed up with similar orders too!
This guys loved their Buah Keluak Ayam dish as all of them were digging into the Buah Keluak and trying out the gravy although truth be told , I never found that dish to be any special.......must be my Indian taste buds.
The prawn masak Lemak was by far the nicest dish on our table that night ...for me.
Sweet Big prawns and santan gravy.
Who can resist that ?
All in all a very delicious week for my Family and I here in Melaka.
