Rosalind's 70th Birthday Celebration

The television in the living room has been blaring away a chinese serial and the dogs were barking nonstop this afternoon around 2pm. Michelle's aunty Doreen has been living with us these past 2 weeks and my mother likes to entertain herself and Doreen by playing these serials non stop. Must be why the dogs are barking away like crazy.
While typing these words, I'm seated in the front hall listening to Visvanathan songs on You Tube and my daughter Shoryn is playing her Japanese Anime MP3 songs inside the bedroom.
I swear any stranger or star gazer walking in on my family home will be left confounded as to what language we actually use in this house ~!

Michelle was again mad at me today evening when she breezed into the house at 7.30pm after work, whilst Shoryn was going over with me her Malay pantun and seloka homework. It was apparently ToastMaster Willie Foo's sister -(Rosalind) 70th birthday celebration which was to be celebrated in their home in Klebang and I was not ready although she only mentioned we were invited at 6.10pm earlier today to me. We had some words although it was not in anger.

I've noticed she appears more confrontational to me albeit in a forgiving, nonchalant way, over many trivial matters these past few days......

When I open the subject with her on the drive over to the couple's house,  my wife said it was because she is angry I'm "open to the friendly gestures" of other women and she doesn't like it.
She feels very strongly as her relationship with andrew is strictly platonic nowdays since he is overseas, any women I meet should be too.

She said she feels betrayed. Her logic is I get to touch my friends but she doesn't do that with andrew.

She also let me know she doesn't appreciate me grilling her about their relationship status as she has, in her own words "promised me many times that she will continue to stay and not leave me";  and that she is tired of repeating herself to me.

So apparently now I'm the person who is in the wrong. I should not do such things as it hurts her feeling.  I should know better and behave.

I guess she  must be right, I should learn my place and not question her actions but make sure mine does not in any way hurt hers.

I should be grateful my wife tolerates me and shares with me her love and care instead of harassing her about her relationship with other man.

she feels her indignant anger and toleration for my shameful action is correct and I'll do well to listen to her.

Yenna Kodumai ya ithu !

We stopped talking about this once we reached Willie's place. The small crowd of immediate friends and fellows gave the birthday celebration an air of a private party, which suited most of us fine.
The hosts, although both brother and sister were stroke patients, was as usual very happy to see all of us and had cooked up a storm in providing us with delicious home cooked meals.

After dinner, we gathered around to sing the Birthday Girl a song and had light banter with each other over a bottle of  fine red wine.

The gathering was nice and the food delicious and all in all it was a good evening of friends and flavor.

What is a 'HINDU' ?

In 1995, Chief Justice P. B. Gajendragadkarwas quoted in anIndian Supreme Court ruling:

When we think of the Hindu religion, unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet; it does not worship any one god; it does not subscribe to any one dogma; it does not believe in any one philosophic concept; it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion orcreed. It may broadly be described as away of life and nothing more.

Common Misunderstandings on Hinduism

Vedanta (and all Hinduism) is entirely monistic, believing only in the all-pervading world-soul, Brahman, rather than a personal God

This advaita philosophy is certainly popular, and offers a simple explanation of the many deities. Nonetheless, many theologians have considered God to be a person. He is not merely an anthropomorphic representation, nor are the various deities and murtis simply incarnations or representations of an impersonal Supreme.

Thus Hinduism includes both monism and monotheism. It is misleading to call the Abrahamic religions,"the monotheistic traditions," implying that monotheism is absent from the Eastern traditions. Vedanta includes many monotheistic schools. They may accept the existence of many gods and goddesses, but strongly emphasizes the pre-eminence of the Supreme Deity.
