A simple pictorial study of our Good Friday dinner here in Melaka.
The days here in Melaka are hot and sultry and the nights no better these days. It is a total change from what used to be daily rainy, drizzly days from just a few weeks ago.
Sunny and lazy afternoons seems to define our situations over here in Bukit Beruang now, as I am confronted with the fact that going outside means getting hot, sweaty and bothered. This kind of weather tends to make one contemplative and pensive, while hiding inside a building; I would say. But,then again...what do I know,eh?

One just has to wait it out for the evening part of the day to start before any decisions to venture out is contemplated on for the time being.
Being confined to close quarters brings to mind and old Indian song, ''Amudum thenum yetheke''?
(Why would I need honey and peace invoking beauty when I have You). It is sung by a lover to his new wife. Indeed, if you have a loved one nearby, everything seems automatically fine and dandy, doesn't it?
Life is indeed good and carefree here within the confines of my home.

The simple pleasures of a Life surrounded by Food, Family and Friends cannot be over exaggerated, given the many stressful and bad situations people face in the world these days..... just to survive to the next day.
Given the various envying, back stabbing and solicitous situations each individual goes through in his life, I am indeed grateful for the lazy, hazy and at times crazy but ultimately, safe life I have managed to acquire here in this former little hamlet called Melaka.

Whilst the drum beats of war is playing out there amongst the various political parties contesting the coming 13th Malaysian general election, and further afield we have North Korea declaring publicly, a fight to the death with South Korea and their ally, the United States of America.
And yet even more further away,Cyprus is being heralded as the lynch pin that will start the Fiscal Apocalypse over in Europe before end 2013;
the over boding signs of impending Doom and Gloom of the future days seem quite distant from my daily life as each morning fades to late afternoon quietly & seamlessly before I start contemplating the various experiences that I would partake on that particular day (or what's left of the day!)
It is sad though, that sharing the ways and joys of this particular way of life with others will mostly strike them as if I am comparing my good fortunes with theirs and cause them to curse and swear at my indiscretions and seemingly cocky and wastrel form of living.
I am thus limited to contain my experiences and shared observation garnered through participation of events in this game of Life to just the few who can understand me.
I suppose in a way that is what drives me to write. The act of sharing must not be contained nor limited to a few just because of my personal limitation in the arts of communications, now should it?

The internet (through emails) has given me an opportunity to divulge knowledge, advice and secrets that in person I care not. It has allowed me the anonymity of being faceless yet glaringly in your face within an acceptable parameter of social behavior to those that I have known, presently know and will know in the future.

But like everything else the internet and it's myriad social media have also caused me great loss, personal pain and the possible loss of personal freedom and pleasure over the years.(Access to the world wide web makes one lazy to leave the chair and computer since the whole world is in there begging for your attention... literally!) It is the inescapable truth in life that everything we do is beset with both joy and pain and all we can do is to continue playing this grand old game until our time has come.

The difference is, I like to repeat often, not how you play the game but
enjoy the game played on you that makes this life better than all the rest. Because, if there is one constant within all of life , it is that
change is the only constant you can bet on.

That is why the past always seems better that today in many people's memories (though not to all).
We tend to view certain experiences and memories of times past more rosily that others (through shared memories) simply because the mind chooses to
believe it was better even though in reality it may not have been. It could be the way our mind copes with the frustrations and dissapointments in life.
They say you cannot change the past but I have seen how you can remember the past differently based on your particular predilections and affections.

Having also been in positions of power and privilege, I can say with a pinch of salt, that nothing in this life remains the same for long. The prince may be the next pauper and the pauper could be the next prince but whatever it may turn out to be, be assured nothing risked will mean nothing gained. Time is one enemy that everyone faces without fail that will either make or break their will and resolute.
The rewards we look for in life sometimes just comes to us later in life that we are accustomed to. And it is also true that, unfortunately, sometimes they do not come at all but that should never be allowed to discourage us in this game of life for though the reward we think we are entitled to never arrives, in retrospect we would have garnered rewards in other forms that we are just not aware of at the moment.
Very Deep,yes?
But that indeed is my experience in this life.
So There You Go !

My personal motto in this life has always been ''Berani Buat, Berani Tanggung'' (Dare to do; Dare to bear the burden)and I've always believe fervently that no matter what injustice be fronts you, given hope and patience the sun will arise to drive away the pain and bad memories provided we were justified.

When we look back at our own life, many a situation could, would and maybe should have been better dealt with but when we look to the future ultimately we all confront our maker with either our heads help up high or bowed in fear. That which makes the difference is how we live our life today.

At times It may seem that the world is indifferent to our needs and that we need to fight and grab what we need and at other times we might think we are surrounded by thieves and saboteurs, the world seemingly full of bad seed, tempting deeds and unfair leads but sway not from the path you know is true and be resolute for their day of reckoning is soon happening.
I believe if we strive to live and play with meaning (Life on our own terms); in our lives without causing harm to others, we are assured a place in
his arms. (Berani buat berani Tanggung, beb)! nOthing else matters.
Because though we may not get everything we plan to get in this life but at the very least we should plan to get life out of the plans we do make !
